The impact of the greater community is a powerful statement. EHM Senior Solutions has invested nearly $18 million over the past 10 years to provide care and services to those in need.

Center for Innovation and Education

EHM Senior Solutions believes in forming partnerships in a manner that will add value to the communities we serve.  Examples of these partnerships are evident at the Center for Innovation and Education in Saline. EHM Senior Solutions has entered into a partnership with Arbor Hospice to provide end of life care to those in need and works in concert with the Saline Senior Center to prepare and deliver 10,000 meals annually to older adults.  With the purchase of 90,000 square feet of a vacated hospital EHM has the unique opportunity to expand its programs and services to the community.  These include: expanding rehabilitation services, creating a dedicated outpatient therapy area for EHM residents and patients, expanding the café and opening its restaurants to the public, further expansion of home delivered meals in Washtenaw County, and creating a community training and education center which will focus on innovation. Staff Training and Education

EHM Senior Solutions is noted for its outstanding care which is initiated through a well-trained and educated staff.  Grateful residents and family members are extremely appreciative of the high touch care and services that they or their family member receives. One way they show that appreciation is to establish staff training and education funds.  These funds take two forms: annual contributions that are used for scholarships or establishing a named endowment that lives in perpetuity.  A named endowment can be established with a gift of $25,000 and the donor and the Evangelical Homes of Michigan Foundation form a partnership to establish the criteria.

Technology Innovation

EHM Senior Solutions is a leader in using technology to improve the health and well-being of our residents and clients and at the same time reducing the cost of providing quality care.  A few examples of the technology that EHM Senior Solutions uses includes medical alert systems, motion sensors, and a GPS tracking device in shoes.  One distinct advantage of using technology coupled with in person care from a qualified staff member is the high tech / high touch service model that propelled EHM Senior Solutions as an industry leader.  EHM Senior Solutions also provides a number of web-based programs where users are able to schedule services on an ala carte basis.

Four Pillars of Support

Charitable Care

As the cost of care continues to increase for older adults, the Evangelical Homes of Michigan Foundation strives to fill the gap. Providing exceptional care to everyone is EHM Senior Solution’s and the Foundation’s mission. The Charitable Care Initiative reminds us that it takes a village to ensure everyone has a full and prosperous life.

Safe-At-Home Program

As we listened to the dreams of our neighbors, we discovered that older adults wanted options to receive services that would allow them to remain in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of their home. Through this program seniors can depend on EHM for handyman services and any additional resources that ease the burden of staying in their own homes.

Capital Improvements

In the fast paced world of healthcare and wellness, we are constantly looking to improve our facilities to keep up with demand and exceptional standards. Our Capital Improvement Campaigns cover acquisition of new properties and enhancements to our current communities.

Community Education

EHM employs more than 1,000 people and believes in community outreach and social accountability. By giving advanced education resources to our employees, we impact the greater community. We aim to empower our caregivers to be leaders in their field, and elevate our programs offered to those in need.

How We Help

2016: More than $2.5 million used to help seniors

Organization remains focused on not only helping to provide quality care for those served, but improve the quality of life in the greater community. Here are some of the highlights of what has been accomplished over the last year:

  • EHM Senior Solutions entered into a partnership with Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services to provide much needed home care services in rural Southeast Michigan.
  • Evangelical Homes of Michigan Foundation donors contributed more than $1.8 million to help bridge the gap between cost of care and an individual’s ability to pay.
  • Through the Safe At Home Charitable Initiative, EHM Senior Solutions provided more than $60,000 in charitable services, so seniors could stay in their own homes. Services included installing medical alert systems, re-modifying doorways, building wheel chair ramps, and inserting grab bars in bathrooms.
